Class Description

Designated Linklater Teacher Aram Monisoff will introduce you to concepts to free your natural voice with exercises that focus on:

  • Relearning natural diaphragmatic breathing
  • Finding freedom and fuller expression in your voice without strain
  • Letting go of tension in your throat, jaw and tongue to aid in diction as well as emotional expression

These classes are hands on and interactive. Participants should dress comfortably and bring a bottle of water. Exercises and tools gained in this class can be used to relax and warm up before a show, audition, or presentation. In the last two sessions Aram will coach and give individual feedback on short pieces of text to help you apply the voice work in a practical setting.

About our Voice and Speech Program

Everyone’s voice journey is unique. Some grew up singing in choir while others were always first to raise their hands to give a class presentation.  However, for many of us our voice can feel like it’s not able to fully express how we feel, whether it’s on a stage or in a staff meeting. Psychological and physical blocks around our voice can limit our potential. Our Voice and Speech Program is led by Designated Linklater Teacher Aram Monisoff who will help connect you with your natural voice. We don’t believe in a “correct” way to speak rather we’ll give you the tools to get acquainted with your breath, body, and resonators and effortlessly use your voice under the pressure of performance. These classes are open to performers and non-performers alike. We highly encourage everyone to experience the benefits of connecting with your voice!

Cancellation Policy and Attendance Policy

Student Cancellation
If a student is withdrawing from class more than 7 days prior to start date, the amount of the tuition paid including a $110 non-refundable deposit will be kept on credit at the studio for a year, to be used on a future class.

Alternatively, students who withdraw more than 7 days prior to the start date can keep $110 non-refundable deposit on file to be applied to a future class and any other payments made will be refunded to the original payment method.

If you fail to notify the office one week prior to the start of your class, you will lose your deposit.

If you drop the class ON THE DAY OF THE FIRST CLASS OR AFTER, the full tuition is non-refundable, non-transferrable, and may not be kept on file for a future class.

We appreciate you respecting this policy for the best experience for our instructors and students!

Please reach out at 773-217-9565 if you have any questions.

Studio Cancellation
Occasionally we’ll have to cancel a call due to low enrollment. We’re sorry if that happens to you! If we have to cancel a class you’ve signed up for, we will give you at least 48 hours notice and promptly start your refund process.

In the event that class is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control (including but not limited to extreme weather and pandemic related shutdowns), make-up classes will be scheduled as soon as it’s safe for our students and instructors to be together safely at the studio. In some cases classes may transfer to an online platform. If a student is unable to attend the rescheduled class due to circumstances beyond our control (including but not limited to extreme weather and pandemic related shutdowns) that student will receive credit on their account for the value of missed classes.

Attendance Policy
In order to get the most out of your work with us, our students should make showing up to every class on time a priority.

We understand that things do come up so if you know you’re going to miss a class, please give your instructor as advance notice as possible. This will help them get you caught up and not throw off the rest of the group. Scheduling a make-up class is possible but not guaranteed.

Students enrolled in our Meisner Acting Program can only advance to the next level if they’ve attended at least 6 of their 8 sessions. If a student misses more than 2 sessions, they will need to retake the level in order to advance in the program.
